About the Role
As the Assistant Manager at the client’s flagship store, the successful candidate will be critical to the success of the business. Your proven retail sales, building/reno and team leadership experience will be pivotal in providing the Manager with the support needed to deliver an exceptional customer experience, drive sales, coach the team whilst meeting the high operational standards and financial targets.

Duties:
- Effectively negotiate and resolve any complaints, disputes or enquiries in relation to customers, suppliers and other interested parties that may arise in the normal course of doing business to restore and promote good public relations.
- Make decisions on adjustments, refunds, goods returned, customer cheques and customer service as required.
- To effectively manage the recruitment, training, development and individual performance of all sales and warehouse staff within the store.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all products sold in the business.
- Initiate suggestions for improvement of the business.
- Ensure the entire store is kept clean and tidy and complies with OH&S standards.
- Maintain merchandise, fixtures, and fittings to be well presented at all times and ensure correct pricing is displayed.
- Ensure all staff is ready to commence work at the appropriate starting times and are well presented.
- Creating new business opportunities.
- Opening and closing the store.
- Actively involved in counter and phone sales.
- Communicating the day-to-day operations between the sales departments and the warehouse.
- Measure staff performance to achieve personal and team targets.
- Manage the control of fast and slow moving stock.
Skills and Experience:
- Customer-centric mentality and ability to tack multiple facets of the warehouse at any given time.
- Proactive thinking, strong communication and organisation skills
- A “can-do” attitude, highly motivated, excellent listening and communication skills, demonstrate a fantastic attitude to safety requirements.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is required
- Be physically fit, self-motivated, reliable and have a great work ethic;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Forklift License preferred (training can be undertaken)
- Must have Australian working rights for Permanent Role.
- Must be available 47.5 hours over 5 days a week.
